Oak Coffin - The Obsidian Ritual
USBM
Forged in the shadowy depths of 1994, OAK COFFIN quickly carved its name into the burgeoning USBM scene with their vicious and melancholic blend of satanic black/death metal. Known for channeling a raw, oppressive atmosphere steeped in blasphemy and despair, the band became a cult presence before disbanding in 1999, leaving behind a legacy of underground infamy. With connections to acts like OPEN GRAVE, HELCARAXË, and KRIEG, the band's influence has quietly echoed through the darkest corridors of American extreme metal.
Buried for 25 years, OAK COFFIN has been exhumed in 2025 with a new full length album, The Obsidian Ritual -- a searing and vicious celebration of blasphemy and darkness. Fusing their ancient sound with newfound ferocity, OAK COFFIN stands poised to reclaim their place in the pantheon of underground black death metal.
